Designed by renowned custom knifemaker and bladesmith Ed Schempp, the Spyderco Retract is a dynamic folding knife with a dramatically curved blade designed to enhance cutting leverage.

The full-flat-ground blade is crafted from 9Cr18MoV stainless steel. Its distinctive negative angle, somewhat reminiscent of a Nepalese kukri, enhances cutting leverage, particularly when making draw cuts.

The handle combines full skeletonized stainless steel liners with peel-ply-textured G-10 scales and a partial G-10 backspacer. The stout liners form the foundation of the LinerLock mechanism, which is machined nearly flush to help prevent unintentional closure.

For convenient carry, the Retract features a lined lanyard hole and a deep-pocket wire clip that is reversible for left- or right-side tip-up carry.
